WHITE AFTER LABOR DAY

I don't really care what the fashionistas of the world say, I wear white after Labor Day with pride (well, white socks, that is).  I also love crisp, white linens, towels and sheets, so when they get the grime of time on them, I turn to my favorite domestic diva and one of her tried and true tips I use over and over again.
WHEN THE WORLD GIVES YOU LEMONS:
I love dressing up a table for dinner parties and that always includes linen tablecloths and napkins at our house.  Unlike some divas who don't allow colored cocktails or wines for fear of staining precious pieces, I say they are here to enjoy…both the guests and the decorations, so if something happens, SO BE IT!  Instead of bleaching napkins and tablecloths that have been soiled by saucy guests (which can eventually ruin the fabrics) I boil a pot of water with lemon slices.  After bringing to a boil, turn off and add linens and allow to soak for an hour then launder as usual.  Crisp, clean, white linens will re-appear as quickly as your dinner guests every time!  And for those annoying coffee and tea stains on grandmas favorite china cups…take grandmas denture-cleaning tablets, fill the cups with water and drop them in! With very little labor involved, your stained pieces will be shiny white in no time!
