RAISING THE BAR
To keep a competitive edge in a cool market I have to come up with hot ideas, so I recently walked into a guest house and turned it into a fun house for a family with two college-aged boys. The 1,000 square foot open space in two stories was wide open with a full bath and lots of potential. Once used as a rental apartment for the previous owners, a walk-in closet fit for a Queen wouldn't work for these lovely Princes. So, I decided to turn it into a bar! With a slice here, a nip there and a little tuck over there, we turned a drab walk-in into a fab walk up bar. If electricity isn't an issue (obstructing the space below where you'd like to cut), then cut away! We refinished the opening with drywall on the interior and crown molding on the exterior. A little alcove under the staircase became something much cooler (look for that tomorrow). Simple solutions to a bland space. Sit down, grab a drink and enjoy!
