A CLEAN PLATE
I met a woman a few weeks ago who is recently divorced and certainly ready to move on. In her attempts to move on she decided to hire me to throw a "he's a piece of trash, take his stuff and make it your treasure" sale. Like many, after years of marriage everywhere she looked she was reminded of him. The champagne flutes they bought in Paris, the vase his mother gave as a holiday gift, the sheets they slept on, the dishes they registered for at Tiffany's. Shiny silverware reminded her of dark times she wants to forget, so I suggested she throw an estate sale party and take the profits from the sale to buy a bright future. What better way to start fresh than serving friends a delicious dinner on new plates. You may recall I raved about Williams Sonoma's catering box of wine glasses I purchased a few years ago before hosting a crowd for Thanksgiving. Pottery Barn has joined the catering game with their very own collection of glasses, dishes, bowls and utensils. Whether you're trying to move on from a bumpy road or hosting a crowd in the near future, a box of clean, white plates from Pottery Barn are less than fifteen minutes in therapy
