LIGHTEN UP!
To the rude man I observed screaming at a sweet Home Depot employee because she didn't know how to explain in lame-man's terms how to install an overhead light fixture (I'm sure she figured the idiot couldn't even screw in a light bulb), lighten up dude! She was doing the best she could and if you don't know how to brighten up a room, hire a professional to help you with your problems (I suggest a Therapist before Electrician)! While he was screaming his nonsense I had a light bulb moment but chose not to share it with the jerk. Many stores, including the Home Depot, have plug-in overhead lights. Simply plug them in the way you would a regular floor or table lamp, hang a few plant hooks in the ceiling and weave wire through to the desired height. The stainless steel lamps above hang in our outdoor kitchen. An Electrician would charge $1,000 to install overheads, so I popped down to Ikea and picked these up for $19.99 a piece. No need to be in a dark mood after using this bright idea!
TIME TO COMPLETE TASK: Thirty minutes to install two lights
COST: $19.99/each at Ikea (they come in 7", 14" & 21" diameters)
STRESS LEVEL: Lighting up without spending a lot: LOW
