GOOD STRIPPERS
This Memorial Day was a memorable one after we brought a good stripper into our home to help us out of a rough situation. Anxious to expose some wood in our downstairs bathroom, Joe (wearing protection, of course) turned on the lights and went to town. After a few strokes he exposed a real beauty! The project of fixing up our downstairs bathroom feels as long and tedious as George Bush in office, but we see a light at the end of the tunnel. Initially we attacked stripping the wood the old fashioned way, by sanding it, then a wise man turned us on to a new trick: paint stripper, while incredibly toxic, gets the job done in half the time with far less effort. Wearing a heavy duty protective mask, apply a thick layer of stripper with a brush to the painted surface you want exposed (moldings, furniture, painted wood floors, etc.). Wait fifteen minutes and the paint literally lifts off the wood. We removed five layers of paint from the molding around our windows exposing the gorgeous, original wood underneath. Next time you want to see nice wood, use a good stripper and you won't be dissapointed!
