This nation was founded by 13 colonies of Great Britain located along the eastern seaboard. On July 4, 1776 they issued the Declaration of Independence which proclaimed their independence from Great Britain and their formation of a cooperative union. The Declaration of Independence stressed two themes: individual rights and the right of revolution. Today exercise your right to vote AND your right to freedom: Starbucks is offering free coffee to anyone who votes, Krispy Kreme is giving away free donuts and Ben and Jerry are scooping up free ice cream for anyone who shows up.
