GLOBAL WARMING
Despite what Sarah Palin thinks, Global Warming is not God's fault...unless he's been driving around in a Ford Expedition, working in a power plant, flying airplanes and chopping down forests! Most rational people know the term "Global Warming" refers to the warming of our planet in recent decades and it's projected continuation and implies, not God, but human influence. Concerned about warming our home this winter (the insulation has been ignored for decades) we headed to the center of our universe this weekend...Home Depot...to purchase insulation.
THE WARMING EFFECT:
One of my favorite books growing up was Flowers in the Attic. While we might have beautiful flowers in our garden, the Attic is a different story. Armed with masks, long-sleeved shirts and Xanax, we climbed into our dark, dingy Attic this weekend to install Insulation with hopes of lowering our electric bill and raising the temperature this winter. Hopefully our hard work (and rattled nerves...we assume the Attic is infested with mice so scattered poison as well) will pay off! This project was actually much easier than I thought it would be...after overcoming my fears of looming mice and other rodents, that is! The insulation came in "bats" (which, of course, made me worry about yet one more thing lurking in the eaves of our attic) in groups of eight strips. So, after the Home Depot delivered 30 packs we pulled on our masks and laid the bats between each beam and after a few hours the job was done! Now we'll just pray to God that it works!
