THE BLACK VOTE
My campaign for change has been a long, winding road often met with aggression, doubt and scrutiny. I set out with a clear vision in mind: bring about change people can believe in by adding value to their families homes to help them live better. What I've found, to my shock and horror, most Americans prefer an all white house. Why are people so afraid of a predominantly black cabinet? Clearly, if you look closely, white isn't necessarily better...it shows flaws, easily crumbles and isn't terribly interesting. In the example above, the family believed in change...and love the results!
BET ON BLACK:
My March 19th blog "When you go Black" talked about the politics of design and the importance of going out on a limb for change. The results above are clear: the once all white kitchen has been updated by painting the cabinets black (if you have children, by the way..or dirty husbands black hides a multitude of sins) and adding a white chandelier for a dramatic pop. While this families budget might be a little higher than yours, the real change came out of a simple, inexpensive can of black paint. You can do it...trust yourself, believe in change!
