POWER STRUGGLE
Life, in general, is a daily struggle. Living in the country, while extraordinary, also has its challenges. This week our nerves (and windows) were rattled by yet another experience unfamiliar to us..thunderstorms. In Los Angeles losing power usually happens if your movie flops, your agent sucks or if the paparazzi catches you in a compromising position. In the Hudson River Valley a loss of power means no lights, no television, no phone, no Internet and no water! We do, however, have the power to take action so next time won't be such a struggle! I aimed for the Target, grabbed a few items and have hidden it away for a rainy day!
RAIN DANCE:
I skipped through the aisles of Target and found everything I needed for under $50.oo to prepare us for the next Thunderstorm...Al Roker says it's coming tonight! So, I purchased a plastic container and filled it with candles, waterproof matches, flashlight and batteries, water, blankets, canned food, can-opener, first aide kit, fruit roll-ups (they last 100 years), portable radio. Even if you don't live in Thunderstorm country, it's good to have some kind of emergency kit ready for the unexpected!
