BRICK AND MORTAR

During the holidays I posted about a cool little item I found at the hardware store that made it easy for me to hang wreaths on brick walls. "Stocking hooks" were available in a pack for about $5 and area typically used to hang stockings on brick fireplaces. For the holidays, I used them to hang a huge, heavy wreath in a dining room on a brick wall. Because the joints were tight (making it easy to secure the hooks in the spaces) I knew it would be safe to hang artwork. Instead of drilling the brick, making a mess and driving me crazy, hooking it made it simple and easy to turn a boring wall into a showcase for art.
