There truly is nothing like walking through your front door in December and inhaling the sweet scent of pine wafting through your house. There's also nothing like sweeping up pine needles for a month, praying the tree doesn't catch fire, and wondering what pieces of furniture it will tattoo with sap when carried out in January. These are just a few of the reasons I've gone fake for the last several years. Like freshly baked Christmas cookies, delicious fudge and festive holiday music, the season just wouldn't be the same without the smell of a fresh tree, so I've mentioned what I do to solve that problem…hang fresh wreaths and garland throughout our house…but this year I have a fresh idea; Scentsicles. Beyond Annoying for $9.99. Each tube-like scent stick has a hole for ornament hangers (they kinda look like incense), and while the directions suggest hanging four tubes on a tree the first week then adding two more the following, I put two on an 8' tree and and our entire house smelled like a tree farm in minutes! So if you, too, are faking it this year and miss the smell of the real thing, add a few scentsicles to your decorating and start celebrating!
