MOVIN ON UP

While you were busy celebrating America's independence from Great Britain this holiday weekend, I was helping two lovely people from London move on up to the east side of Manhattan.  While their pad across the pond is no Downton Abbey, these two were slightly floored by what downsizing really means Manhattan Style!  To calm their nerves (and ease the pain) we popped into a pub for a few martinis and a little chat.  Sometimes showing a client that a square peg won't fit into a round hole is much easier than telling them.  Once the shock wore off (and slight martini buzz) we began to focus on exactly what could be done to make the new space as lovely as the old.  I've mentioned my favorite app for quick, easy design before, and I'm mentioning it again..HOME 3D in the App store IS FREE (and upgraded version with a few more bells and whistles sells for $9.99, but finding directions is a tad difficult..hint: search Youtube for video tutorials).  Step one in any design plan is actually HAVING A PLAN, so once we did that I helped them with the second step in a big move; deciding what to keep, what to donate and what to toss.  Once we did that, I placed their current furniture pieces in our 3D design plan.  Once the move is booked, copies of this plan will be given to the movers so no on questions what goes where on move-in day.  There's no getting around it, moving sucks..preparing, even just a little, helps it suck less!
