PUNKIN, GRAB ME A DRINK!

When you're seven it's cute to carve the classic pumpkin design of upside down triangle eyes and hillbilly teeth, but when you're old enough to hold the knife on your own, it's time to carve your own ideas. It's no secret that I go a little nuts with decorations around the holidays. Halloween is no different. This year the Gemini in me wanted a pumpkin for every personality. So, I have several. The smaller the pumpkin (or ghord) the longer it will last through the holidays...keep in mind your Thanksgiving table decorations, for example. If you don't carve a smaller pumpkin now and it lasts, carve it out for Thanksgiving and use it to serve cranberry sauce, gravy, etc. For Halloween parties think outside of the traditional pumpkin and carve words ("Welcome", "throw up here", etc.) or, like the example above, use a larger pumpkin as an ice bucket, spray paint it black and fill it with candy corns, hallow it out and us it as a vase. Yes, it's fun to scare some people on the spooky holiday but isn't it more fun to make them gasp at your creativity>
