Cubism, the radical and influential art movement of the early 1900's led by Pablo Picasso, took everyday subject matter (like people and furniture), broke it down, flipped it around and re-assembled it in an abstract form. To many, works of cubism look like jumbled messes; erratic, haphazardly placed shapes forced into a tight, uncomfortable setting. A client, frustrated with her tight living situation, looked to me to help with her jumbled mess. Because I could see the potential amidst the chaos, I suggested we start by cleaning up her place. Tight spots call for creative organizing, so I purchased storage cubes at Bed Bath and Beyond that double as living room seating. So, if you've got too much junk, pick it up and put it in a trunk!
