APPEARANCE MATTERS

Forget what your mother's told you, appearances do matter! With less than a week left to finish our renovations, pack our house, put it on the market, jump in the motorhome and shove off, tedious little details (like siding and paint) leave us with twitching eyes, sweaty palms and pounding hearts. We've been painting, plastering, drywalling, screwing, hammering, gardening, patching and sanding for, what feels like, an eternity. But, if we want the house to sell it has to look perfect. You wouldn't put makeup on half of your face and walk out your front door, and we, unfortunately, can't walk out our front door with the house half-done! So, we took a deep breath, finished our coffee and jumped back on the ladder!
KEEPING UP APPEARANCES:
1.) To match the paint of our 1916 Colonial Revival Cottage, I took a piece of old siding with the original color to Home Depot. They scanned it and in five minutes we had a gallon of the original color.
2.) Found siding at a local hardware store. Installed. Primed with Z-Primer
3.) Painted two coats of flat paint on siding.
TIME TO COMPLETE TASK: Three hours
COST: Siding $700.00 Paint: $25.00
STRESS LEVEL: Sitting Pretty, LOW
