BROWNIE NOSING

What better way to kiss up to your loved one than to bake them brownies? Mrs. Fields I most certainly am NOT, so I searched for the perfect recipe and think I found it! We recently received a free copy of COOKS ILLUSTRATED in the mail (available on any newsstand) which, ironically, had a section on THE BEST CLASSIC BROWNIES. With A.D.D. in full swing, I focused and in less than thirty minutes made a delicious little diet sidetrack!

HERE'S WHAT I DID:

The ingredients are: 1 cup pecans or walnuts (measurements are on bags in grocery store), 1 1/4 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 3/4 teaspoon baking powder, 6 ounces unsweetened chocolate, 12 tablespoons butter, 2 1/4 cups sugar, 4 large eggs, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract.

1.) Heat oven to 325, grease 13x9 baking pan.
2.) Combine flour, salt and baking powder and set aside.
3.) Microwave chocolate and butter for 45 seconds, check, stir and reheat for 30 seconds. Stir. If necessary, place back in microwave for 15 seconds.
4.) Once chocolate and butter are smooth and creamy, slowly add sugar, eggs one at a time and flour combo.
5.) Pour into baking pan and sprinkle top with nuts
6.) Place in oven for 30-35 minutes (or until toothpick comes out with few bits on it)
7.) let cool. Serve with milk. Run on treadmill for ten minutes.

TIME TO COMPLETE PROJECT: 40 minutes
