REDRUM, REDRUM!

One of my favorite suspense flicks is "The Shining" which finds a seemingly lovely young boy running around an abandoned resort in the Colorado mountains screaming "Redrum, Redrum." Towards the end of the movie it's revealed that the sweet little phrase was actually "Murder" spelled backwards, written in red lipstick by the little hooligan on his parents bathroom mirror. Another lovely young boy parading around his resort-like apartment on the upper east side of Manhattan, requested that I paint his room red, describing it as a "killer" look. I wanted to kill him for choosing red (dark colors are some of the most difficult to cover without multiple coats) but in an effort to stay out of prison and keep working, I took the job and the challenge in stride. Thank God for Glidden paints who make devilish colors (like "Red Delicious") a breeze to cover with their all-in-one Primer Paint. Think of it as two coats in one, primer-paints make a tough job heavenly!
TIME TO COMPLETE TASK: Four hours and counting
COST: $24.95 for a gallon of Glidden's "Red Delicious" paint/primer combo
STRESS LEVEL: Changing REDRUM to a Red Room: LOW
